St. George Greek Orthodox Church hosts Greek Fest in DeKalb

St. George Greek Orthodox Church will host its annual Greek Fest fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and Sunday at Hopkins Park Shelter in DeKalb.

This community event features Greek food, including roasted chicken, souvlaki, gyro and many other Greek delicacies.

 

 

For more than three decades, St. George Greek Orthodox Church in DeKalb has offered thousands of people the finest in Greek cuisine along with Greek dancing and pastries at the park’s shelter house.

In addition there are tasty Greek salads with gyro slices, Greek pasticio, spanakopita and more. The weekend also offers a bountiful table of sweet Greek desserts and treats. Trays of baklava and sweet Greek cookies and thick rich Greek puddings will be featured.

Greek music will be heard through the weekend and a Greek dance troupe will entertain on Saturday afternoon. There will be more Greek dancing on Sunday afternoon.

 

 

All food is available for carry-out and plenty of seating will be available. There is no admission and food is cooked fresh throughout the day, according to a news release.
