Racine Greek Festival

The 52nd annual Greek Festival will be held Friday through Sunday, June 23-25, at Kimissis Greek Orthodox Church, 1335 S. Green Bay Road.

You’re invited to one of the area’s favorite ethnic festivals.  The 52nd Annual Greek Festival features authentic Greek food, pastry, wines, coffee bar, costumed dancers, cooking demonstrations, shopping. Church tours available.

The event features traditional Greek food including gyros, saganaki (flaming cheese), dolmathes (seasoned meat and herbs wrapped in grapevine leaves), fire-roasted chicken and lamb, shish kebob, spanakopitas (cheese and spinach pies), Greek salad, Greek feta and olives, Greek wines and coffee bar, and a wide variety of homemade Greek pastries including loukoumathes (honey puffs) and baklava (filo pastry with walnuts and honey).

 

The festival will be open for a gyro lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday.

 

 

Entertainment includes carnival rides, a Greek marketplace, cooking demonstrations, church tours, live Greek music and dancing. A raffle will be held.

 

 

Held the third week of June on the Kimissis Tis Theotokou Greek Orthodox Church grounds, the festival continues to attract people from around the community for its entertainment, agora or market, and of course, the food. The fest offers a selection of 30 to 40 fresh, mostly homemade foods, from gyros to baklava and a variety of other delicious desserts.
