Greece @ Summer Fancy Food

More than 40 food businesses from Greece and Cyprus participated in New York City’s largest summer food show that included more than 3,000 exhibitors from all around the world, 39 product categories, including best chocolate, cheese and savory snack. Finalists were chosen by a national panel of chefs, culinary instructors, recipe developers, food journalists and specialty food buyers in a blind tasting.

 

 

The 63rd Summer Fancy Food Show, the largest food and beverage fair in the US, came to an end at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center in New York.

 

 

41 Greek food manufacturers and distributors attracted major attention from media and attendees proving that Greek food products are starting to receive their deserved attention in a nation that praises the Mediterranean diet, but it’s not familiar with many Greek food brands that offer just that.

 

 

Greek producers and exporters were showcasing their best Mediterranean foods and beverages, as only Greece can. Greek food, the essence of the Mediterranean diet, is recognized around the world for its healthful properties, fresh ingredients, and intense flavors.

 

 

Economy Minister Dimitris Papadimitriou invited the foreign entrepreneurs to invest in the food and beverages sector and particularly in the innovative small and medium sized enterprises that activate in Greece, in his speech at the inauguration of the 63rd International Food Exhibition “Summer Fancy Food Show 2017” in New York.
Papadimitriou was toured to the Greek pavilion by the president of Enterprise Greece Christos Staikos which organised the Greek participation.
The minister underlined the exhibition’s importance on the promotion of the Greek products and its penetration in the foreign markets.
He noted that the food factory is a very promising sector with extrovert characteristics of dynamic extension and furthermore is at the cutting edge of the new growth model promoted by the government.

 

 

 

 

Greek food, the essence of the Mediterranean diet, is recognized around the world for its healthful properties, fresh ingredients, and intense flavors. Greece is saying Invest in Taste because those who buy Greek food and beverage products are investing in taste, quality and the good life. The Greek participation under the slogan “Invest in Taste” constitutes the most important strategic action in a market of broad extent and size, said Staikos.
